I recently transferred a couple of prescriptions to Drugstore.com - you get a $30 credit toward non-prescription products for every new transferred prescription there, so I tried a couple. The process was a bit confusing - I've transferred them to all sorts of physical pharmacies before, and used the phone to do this, but it was my first experience with an online service for this. I tend to remember some key words that mean something to a pharmacist, but not so much to a computer. I over came, though, and just had the bottles handy so I could check spelling, etc. One of my choices is pretty standard, but they didn't carry my normal dose - also very standard. I ordered double the quantity of half the does, and knew my doc would be fine with it. Next hurdle - I did something wrong the first time and one of them wasn't going to be run through my insurance. I called and talked with a very nice person who cancelled my order and reentered it correctly with me on the phone. In between steps, I'm catering to my families needs - this is getting drawn-out. They don't tell you how much your copay is going to be, just charge you, and it was about double my copays, but still less than the credits. They also charged me shipping which was supposed to be free, but it was credited after a phone call - another side effect of my first attempt at an order and then it being cancelled, etc. A week after they arrived, I still hadn't seen the credits, so I called and was transferred to their fulfillment service, BioScript. They told me I needed to forward my shipping confirmation e-mail to the address at the bottom of the e-mail in order to get the credits - Seriously?! I did. Bioscript also informed me that they are the actual mail order service for our insurance and I would get a 3-month supply for less than half what Drugstore.com charged me for 1 month, so to call them next time (NO PROBLEM!) Another week or so and I still hadn't seen the credits & we were putting together our list, so I was thinking about the $60 in credits I would like to use. I called Drugstore.com again & made sure to choose the stuff other than Bioscript (which I actually knew about at this point). They transferred me twice with waits and explanations in between. In the end, I heard that they will send the credits in an e-mail in about 3 weeks from when you forward the shiping confirmation to them. At this point, I must have had God holding my tongue because I said kindly & softly & calmly, "I know you're not asking for my feedback, but I've transferred prescriptions quite a bit for store credits. This was quite a hassle, honestly. [they apologized] In the end, it isn't serving you well because in calling your customer service number, I was transferred to Bioscript that I didn't even know was my mail order fulfillment service for my insurance, and they can do it much cheaper, and were able to help me much quicker." They apologized again & I said it was OK. I received both of my credits that afternoon in an e-mail. Each $30 credit must be used separately & without any other promo code, so I entered 2 orders, and got confused from lack of sleep and newness with the site - my first browsing I was looking for the whole $60 worth between Drugstore.com and Beauty.com and getting my samples, getting good prices, etc. Some of their prices were good, some were not. In the end I got 8 deoderants at a decent price, but only meant to order 4 - yes, I was tired and confused. I also got some things we really needed and some good samples for about $10 in the end. It was WAY more hassle and time than it was worth in my case, but did save me money. Wanted to share so people can learn from my mistakes & if you're quicker than I am, you probably could do it more efficiently, but I'll got straight to BioScript, or Target Pharmacy in future . . . Hope you're having a great weekend!
